How To Jailbreak Apple iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0 and 5.0.1 firmware.

iOS devices that can be jailbroken using Absinthe include the iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0 (9A334) and 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406) and all models of the iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1 (9A405).

First backup your iPhone or iPad and turn passcode lock off. You can always turn it back on later.

Run Absinthe on the same computer you use to sync with your iPhone or iPad. Absinthe will detect what has been plugged in and tell you the firmware. Simply click "Jailbreak".

For the next 10 minutes, you'll see the iPhone or iPad sync icon spin, say "Restore in Progress", and reboot on it's own. Let Absinthe do its thing.

When it's all done, you will find a new icon on your iPhone named Absinthe and it will have the Greenpois0n logo. Click this to install Cydia. The phone will restart automatically afterward.

After it restarts, you should now see Cydia. It will take a few minutes to load Cydia when running it the first time because it needs to load all the packages.

At this point, you have successfully jailbroken your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 running 5.0 or 5.01.
